My Project
I am a middle school art teacher who loves instilling confidence and creativity in the young artists of the art studio.
With happy accidents, growing confidence, encouragement and resilience, students can discover how to transform their oops moments into a beautiful unexpected creation.
With these paints, brushes and papers students can explore the world of paintings such as Van Gogh and Cezanne. With construction paper and glue, they can construct collage work inspired by Matisse and Eric Carle. With colored pencils and paper, they can map out plans like the imagineers at Disney. And with erasers they'll remember mistakes happen but we can learn and grow from them.
These students are still navigating the world around them, and middle school is already a rough time as they grow and change so quickly. Art provides a form of therapy and confidence desperately needed at this age.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
