Beating Basic: Adding Aura to Math Class

My Project

I love my students for their diversity and resilience. Despite struggling with math, they come to school eager to learn and grow. They are a supportive community, always looking out for one another, and they inspire me with their determination and positive attitudes.

The classroom items we are requesting—binders, whiteboards, flashcards, and graphic organizers—will help shape the room for intentional seating and learning arrangements.

The wellness items we are requesting—deodorant, hair ties, lip balm, and sweatpants—will ensure that all students have their basic needs met, allowing them to focus on their studies without distractions.

These items will help them feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn. Additionally, having headphones for each student will enhance their learning experience by allowing them to engage with digital resources and focus on individual tasks without interruptions.

The primary goal of this project is to create a supportive and nurturing environment where all students feel cared for and valued. By providing these essential wellness items, headphones, and deodorant, we aim to remove barriers to learning and promote a sense of well-being and belonging. This will help improve their academic performance, attendance, and overall school experience. The classroom items will make sure all students have all the supplies they need in the classroom.

My students are special because of their unique backgrounds and the diverse perspectives they bring to the classroom. They are incredibly supportive of one another and demonstrate a strong sense of community. Despite facing challenges, they maintain a positive outlook and are always eager to learn. It is a privilege to watch them grow and succeed, and I am committed to providing them with the resources they need to thrive.
