Beat the Rainy Day Blues

My students need Magna-Tiles, dough mats, and board games to play during rainy days.

My Students

Students in the after school program stay from 2:30 until 6:00. These students range from grades 4-K to 5th grade. This year we have a large number of students ranging from ages 4-8 that need interesting and fun things to enjoy during those long days.

No one enjoys doing the same thing every day.

These students play in the computer lab and outside most every day. My students would love to be more engaged in active learning and creating something that is special to them.

My Project

An earlier DonorsChoose project gave our after school program a set of magnet shapes. Our students love these shapes and have asked for more so that they can work together to build even bigger creations.

Board games will help our students be active learners during those rainy days when we can't go outside.

Our older students enjoy teaching our younger students how to play different games. This reiterates our "Leader in Me" program at our school.

An earlier DonorsChoose project gave our after school program dough and dough cutters. Using the dough learn-how-to-count mats will help our Kindergarten and 4-K students use a manipulatives to help learn about numbers.
