This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My colleagues and I are committed to providing our students with the best possible educational experience. However, with the warm weather returning, we face a challenge: my room is HOT. Unfortunately, my classroom lacks air conditioning and faces the blacktop, which has the sun rays cooking our classroom!

Maintaining a conducive learning environment is crucial for academic success.

Unfortunately, it's very difficult for students to focus and engage fully in their studies during hot and humid weather conditions. This discomfort not only affects their ability to concentrate but also their overall learning experience. Overheated and overstimulated students coming from PE into a room averaging 85 degrees are NOT happy campers. When I planned our unit on how geography and climate effects civilization, this was not what I had in mind!!

To address this issue and ensure that our students have access to a comfortable and productive learning environment, we are seeking support to fund some climate control for my room. By providing a cool and comfortable space for our students to learn, we can enhance their educational experience, boost their academic performance, and create a more conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
