it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very hard workers. When it's time to take a test, my students need a privacy partition to help them stay focused instead of using their name tags to cover their answers. Also, my students need a timer to time themselves for a minute to help them improve reading fluency.
My students are very motivated and eager to learn at school.
They are also very hard workers. They pay attention in class and enjoy all the subjects that I teach them in my class. My students are English language learners. Unfortunately at our school we have limited resources. My students come from low income backgrounds.
My Project
My students will be able to use the privacy partitions when it's time to take a test. My students use their folders as a privacy partition or name tags to cover their answers. Sometimes their folders fall on the other student's space and causes a distraction or falls on the floor. Providing a privacy partition will help them stay focused and help them concentrate when taking a test.
My students love a challenge. The timer is a helpful tool to help my students motivate to read more fluently. Each time they read a passage for a minute when I time them, students would count how many words they read in a minute by marking the last word they read. If they can time themselves again and beat their first score, they feel like they made a touchdown at the Superbowl. They feel successful! They'll be able to use their own timer to practice their fluency each time they are finish with their classwork or when they are working independently.
The privacy partitions and timers will help my students stay focused when taking a test and improve their reading fluency.
Also, I'll be able to reuse these materials. This will make an impact in my classroom by helping the students focus during testing and helping my students be motivated to do their best at reading fluently.
