This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, active, loving, full of questions and inspiring! They absolutely enjoy fun, hands-on activities. They are active learners that need movement throughout the day in order to allow them to explore and interact with one another. Early Childhood Education is the focus of our school. We offer busing services which bring students from all over the city with different backgrounds and challenges, 75% of my students come from low income families. Although my students are exposed to different learning strategies and are constantly on the go while learning, they still need to incorporate fidget tools that allow them to focus and emerge as readers. By having this extra support we will be able to provide them with opportunities to meet their needs. These preschoolers are really an amazing group that fill my day with their smiles, questions and original ideas.

My Project

Some students need extra support to stay focused on the task at hand. Chair Bands for kids with fidgety feet and the EDsportshouse Sensory Toys Bundle-Stress Relief Fidget Hand Toys for Kids can help them to calm down and focus for longer periods of time when working on literacy skills with the First Little Readers: Guided Reading Level A: A Big Collection of Just-Right Leveled Books for Beginning Readers.

For example, some students are constantly touching things around them.

If they were holding this fidget toy it would allow them extra time to stay focused. The process to prepare them to learn to read will be more efficient.
