This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative, active, loving, full of questions and inspiring! They absolutely enjoy fun, hands-on activities. They are active learners that need movement throughout the day in order to allow them to explore and interact with one another. Early Childhood Education is the focus of our school. We offer busing services which bring students from all over the city with different backgrounds and challenges, 75% of my students come from low income families. Although my students are exposed to different learning strategies and are constantly on the go while learning, they need new hands on activities every week that allow them to focus and emerge as readers. By having this extra support we will be able to provide them with opportunities to meet their needs. These preschoolers are really an amazing group that fill my day with their smiles, questions and original ideas.
My Project
I chose the Jumbo Time Timer because it will allow the students to have better sense of time while working in small groups. For example, they will be able to see how many minutes are left before transitioning to the next activity.
With these new Magna Tiles, my students will be more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of what to work with.
I chose the Magna-Tiles Master Set so that my students can build forms and 3-D shapes with them. Magna Tiles Master Set will be used during small group activities or educational centers.
