Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom consists of exceptional students who qualify to begin school at the age of 3 due to qualifying disabilities. The age range is 3-5 years.
Our school is a Title I school, where all the students qualify and receive free breakfast and lunch.
It is a school which I am proud to be part of a team of educators and staff who truly care about the students.
Although they may not have all the things some people take for granted, they have teachers who care about them and want whatever they can provide to make their school environment a place of fun and learning.
I take pride in seeing their smiles and individual growth from their school experiences.
My Project
My young students receive speech services, some need receptive, expressive, or both language services.
Books are one of my important resources I use to help them with language.
Our reading center needs some added items and books to make it more comfortable and inviting for the children to relax and look at books, along with the teacher when she reads to them.
We have no bean bags and a limited amount of books in the classroom library.
I love when my young students ask to be read too, it's so amazing how they have grown to love books in the 5.5 weeks we have been at school. Their language has grown also!
