Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students with IEPs in middle school are self-conscious about how others perceive them. It's been a slow process in transforming our resource room into one that all students have wanted to be a part of. When all students want to spend time in this room, it helps blur the lines between general and special education.

By attaining these bean bag chairs, we can reduce the typical rigid furniture seen in the majority of urban public school classrooms and make it even more inviting for students to feel like themselves and want to focus on their academic progress.

Students tend to exhibit their gratitude when teachers are able to acquire out-of-the-box items not seen in most classrooms. With this appreciation comes more conscientious effort from students who tend to struggle with rigorous academic standards.
