Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students attend elementary school level and reside in one of the poorest congressional districts of our nation. The children receive special education services in a Integrated Collaboration Teaching (ICT) setting.
Students with disabilities who receive Integrated Co-Teaching services are educated with age appropriate peers in the general education classroom.
ICT provides access to the general education curriculum and specially designed instruction to meet students' individual needs.
These students are motivated and eager to learn. Regardless of their status quo, they attend school everyday ready to learn and succeed.
A large percentage of my students live in unstable housing conditions in the South Bronx.
Therefore, I believe that my students should have the opportunity to have all the materials they need in the classroom to thrive and for that reason I am requesting the following materials:
Beanbag Chairs to sit when they are feeling emotional, frustrated or just need time to focus and want to read for pleasure.
Students will also use the Bean Bag Chairs to socialize with their peers and exchange conversations centered upon non-fiction and fictional books, magazines, articles, and more...
Students will use the highlighters to underline or highlight vocabulary, phrases, sentences and word problems in Math.
Students will use the dry erasers and dry eraser pocket sleeves to underline and circle vocabulary, phrases, sentences and word problems in Math.
Students desperately, need all of these materials.
