it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My amazing first grade students are bright, motivated, and one-of-a-kind individuals. They put a smile on my face each and every day, and they all enjoy coming to school and succeeding in the classroom. I feel so blessed to be their special education teacher, and I am lucky to work in such a rewarding field. The students in our self-contained classroom are working toward working with others in a group, and this includes working together during our fine motor stations. Each day, the students rotate through fine motor stations, working with their table teams to develop cognitive, communication, and and fine motor skills. This project will help support our students in our classroom and beyond.
We are in desperate need of a place to store our puzzles!
One of our fine motor stations is puzzle play. The students can work on knob puzzles, floor puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles based on their own individual abilities. This is a favorite station for all of the students as they have the opportunity to choose a puzzle that interests and challenges them. Lately, we have been missing pieces to our puzzles, making it difficult to keep the students engaged in the activity. Think about how frustrating it can be to work so hard on something and not being able to fully complete it. If we had an area that would safely store our puzzles, such as puzzle racks, our problem would be solved!
The puzzle racks would be a great asset to our classroom in many ways. No only would we be able to store our puzzles more efficiently, the students would gain independence by returning the puzzles to the racks. We greatly appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness.
