My Students
In a world with around 200 species becoming endangered every day, we need to create young scientists to be the voice of tomorrow's generation.
Welcome to my 6th grade classroom!
We are part of a K-6 public school in Northern California, just minutes from big tech companies. Our small school has just around 300 students and really feels like a close-knit family. We are lucky to have the support of generous families and community. My students are creative problem solvers, innovative thinkers and overall creative, motivated and special kids. Many work well above grade level and I am always looking for new ways to challenge them.
My Project
Environmental science has never been more important to learn about than now. Being informed about the issues facing this planet will, in turn, lead my students to be advocates for change. We are requesting a classroom terrarium, a compost container to use at school, a biodegradability test kit, and a kit to test pond organisms. My students have the opportunity to play a hugely important role in our future. This science equipment will provide hands-on, real-life application of science curriculum.
