Help me give my students multicultural crayons so that they have the ability to be proud of who they are and have the opportunity to show that through their drawings.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach first-grade students in an inclusion classroom. This includes students with ADHD, speech and language disorders, autism and ESL. Every year I've watched my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Even with these struggles, they come to school every day, ready to learn and always put their best foot forward!
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
Their determination and hard work is evident as they continue to grow every day. You can help by helping me to give them what they need.
My Project
Our school is made up of diverse students; boys, girls, different learning abilities, Hispanics, African Americans, Asians, Caucasians, and more. It is important that students are aware of who they are and are proud in their own skin.
We want to provide each student of our school with a pack of multicultural crayons so that they have the opportunity to draw themselves and their community around them.
The ultimate goal is for each student to be proud and confident in who they are. This will help us to build cultural awareness in our school.
