Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a lively and inquisitive bunch that show up to class eager to learn, despite the challenges they are faced with both in and out of the classroom. We are a Title I school that offers free breakfast, lunch, and supper (during the after school program) to all children. My students have a wide variety of learning styles and levels, all of which deserve the BEST education possible. Every student in my classroom is unique and everyone in the room respects each other. I care about my students and they know it!
My goal as a bilingual teacher is to encourage my students to love learning and to develop lifelong independent learners.
I especially love that my students try their BEST on everything that comes their way. They love to read and enjoy hands-on activities. They are great helpers and I know I can count on them. Every day, I make sure to instill good qualities that will make them amazing citizens. I want my students to remember me when they grow up, so I make them feel welcome, safe, and important on a daily basis!
My Project
What kid doesn't like the latest and greatest in technology? I was informed that most of our technology on campus is obsolete. This means we will not be able to download educational programs or connect to our SmartBoard with our laptop. It is my job as their teacher to provide my students with the opportunities that they deserve. The MacBook Air will help empower my students with 21st-century skills that are critical for their success. It will inspire them to create a variety of projects that promote STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) and help them research for their competitions such as, U.I.L., Science Fair, and Brainsville.
My students will grow and learn tremendously from having modern technology incorporated into their educational learning experiences.
The MacBook Air will help in all areas of the curriculum and it is extremely reliable. I plan on using an Apple TV I purchased to help showcase my students' awesome work in class. It will also help me stay organized and create outstanding lessons for my students. Most of my students don't have access to electronic devices at home, so I would love to give them this opportunity and make learning more engaging and fun. Please help make our dream a reality!
