This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Books are a uniquely portable magic," Stephen King said, and my students apply this quote in my classroom.
My students come from a very low income families, mostly Spanish and African American.
They are very eager to learn but there are not enough resources at home to continue with their motivation. They attend a bilingual school in New York. Their classroom is an inclusion class.
My Project
My students will be able to enhance their reading ability and get inspired by the characters in the books. They will also have the opportunity to belong to a book club and be able to discuss their book with each other. They will also use their books for an author study.
Having these book clubs in my classroom will encourage and motivate my students to read and look forward to class or group discussions.
I strongly believe that my students can benefit by reading these books by Ann Cameron especially when her books tell about how very low income children can succeed in life.
