Be An Art Pro By Developing An Essential Portfolio!
My students need professional portfolio cases to develop an active portfolio and two self-standing lights and bulbs to take professional photographs of their work.

How can we bridge the gap between high-school art and college or beyond? One way is to emphasize developing a portfolio to enable students to preserve their work and organize it to share with other people. I teach art in a high-needs school, and I am currently working with a portfolio-development class for high-school juniors who are majoring in art. The students in our school take art every year from the time they enter as freshman until they graduate. They are inspired by what is around them, motivated to create personalized and stimulating work, and driven to succeed!
Unfortunately, our school has very limited resources and supplies for students to take their work to the next level. Portfolios are often beyond the reach of our students in this high-needs school. The students really need to be able to access areas of art beyond the classroom such as college, internships, jobs, galleries, exhibitions, etc. In order to do this, every student needs a working portfolio case. With these cases they can share their work with others and continue to save and protect the great work that they complete.
The supplies we need are simple but substantial in what they can help our students achieve. We need professional portfolio cases for each student to keep his or her best work in and to share with others. We also need two self-standing lights with bulbs for students to take professional-quality photos of their work. This will encourage students to document everything they create and develop a digital portfolio along with the actual work.
With these materials and focused learning, our students will be competitive in the art world and be ready to reach beyond the classroom. They will be empowered to seek out art opportunities and feel confident that they have the tools to succeed. They will be able to approach interviews with self-assurance and the comfort of knowing they have the same advantages as their peers. Using a professional portfolio case, students will learn how to preserve, organize, and appreciate the work they have done.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help ensure that these students maintain their work in a professional way. Thank you for helping link these students to the many possibilities and opportunities in the world of art. And most of all, thank you for caring about students who can really use your help to make a difference in their lives!
