My Students
Every morning I am inspired by my students eagerness to learn. We are so lucky to have what we need to learn the core subjects. Unfortunately, we do not have the gym equipment that we need to stay fit.
I want my students to be able to live an active and healthy lifestyle!
My students are caring, intelligent, eager to learn.
They make everyday exciting for me and I only hope to do the same for them. They love math, reading, science and GYM! Who doesn't love gym? My school is a tight knit community in which we all care so much for our students.
My Project
I feel that physical fitness is something that we need to instill upon the next generation who can't play in the street like we did when we were kids. I find that they thrive when they are active and find an outlet for their energy. My school services Kindergarten through eighth grade and most teachers have to teach Physical Education or supplement the gym teacher with 2 periods of gym a week. I have three 50 minute gym periods to teach my fifth graders and we are lacking the material we need. We want to jump rope our hearts out! We want to play kickball, practice basketball, learn soccer and so much more. But we can't without the materials for this project. As their classroom teacher, I want them to have fun and be fit. Please help us be active!
Every year I see children who are unable to go outside and play after school.
Sometimes it's not safe for kids to play outside and most of the time their parents have to work long hours and can't watch them outside. Most students can't afford organized sports. I want my students to get at least the time we have for physical fitness in school to open up their eyes on how to stay fit. I want to have healthy students who will be that way for the rest of their lives.
