My students need to be reminded to be a buddy not a bully; anti-bullying items such as posters, bracelets, and stickers will be fun reminders to be kind.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a school counselor in a middle school with appropriately nine hundred students. My school is located in the inner city with students that mostly come from low, socio-economic living conditions. About ninety-five percent of our students are on free or reduced price lunch. We believe that our students are capable of achieving great things with support from our staff, community partners and parents.
As a counselor, I ensure the social, emotional and academic needs of students are met while providing support to parents, teachers, and staff.
I provide services to my students such as individual counseling, group counseling, academic planning, classroom guidance and career interest preparation. I also provide staff development presentations and parent workshops.
My Project
Anti-bullying posters will be hung over each water fountain to raise awareness and encourage students to be kind. The water fountain provides a high traffic area to help spread the message.
During Anti-Bullying week in November the pencils, bracelets and stickers will be given to students as they pledge to take a stand against bullying.
During that week students will receive be educated about the four types of bullying and what to do if they are ever bullied.
Students are also taught to be courageous bystanders. Courageous bystanders help others who are being bullied instead of joining in or ignoring bullying.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
