Help me give my students books to put in their home libraries! The books on this list will be used for a Battle of the Books club and then given to student participants after the year is over.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We know our kids love reading, but we need to give them every opportunity to do so.
Our wonderful, nerdy middle school students have the opportunity to participate in a state-wide Battle of the Books competition this year!
We have several 5th - 8th-grade students signed up to read and compete against other schools, and we would love to let kids keep the books they loved at the end of the year! Our school does not have a school library, so any books left over would go into classroom libraries. Our kids are nerds for reading, and this opportunity will help our students compete and put books in their homes!
A donation to this project would mean allowing a 5th - 8th grader to compete in a Battle of the Books program for the FIRST TIME! while also allowing them to keep a book to take home and love forever.
