Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Battle of the Books is a national program that our students at our school have taken part in for many years. Students read a variety of prescribed books throughout the school year and regularly tested on their knowledge of those.
Students are self motivated to take part in reading, knowing they will be battling their knowledge of various titles at the end of the school year against other students within our school or district in an actual book battle.
Having several copies of the books available makes it more motivating to read independently or within reading circles. Arredondo students deserve every opportunity available to feel a sense of accomplishment in everything they do.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
