it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every year our school competes in the Battle of the Books competition. It is a book-related competition for students in 3rd-5th grade, where they are encouraged to read a variety of good books by amazing authors and have fun while competing with peers. At the beginning of the school year, the team starts reading the books on their own and practicing after school with me. It is so much fun to come together and have students demonstrate their abilities as I quiz them on the books they have read. The books and bookmarks I am requesting are for my students to keep.
The books for the 2024-2025 school year have been chosen, and I'd love to get them into my students' hands as soon as possible so they can begin reading!
