My students need proper fitting left and right-handed softball gloves, a bat that can be used in or out-of-doors, and foxtails for students who have difficulty catching and throwing.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Rook's classroom raised $673
This project is fully funded
At a small public school, I teach PE to high risk, high poverty 9th and 10th grade students.
This public school, when I arrived, had little to no practical PE equipment. It would be wonderful to play softball the way it was meant to be played - versus always having to modify our games.
The past two years we have had to modify several games just to be able to play. The simple concepts of catching and throwing in softball are covered. However, it would help to increase and hone those same skills by having and using the proper equipment. With this request, I have asked for proper fitting left and right-handed softball gloves. I have also asked for a bat that can be used in or out-of-doors. A request for foxtails has also been added. These are for students who have difficulty catching and throwing. They would be able to practice skills in a less threatening environment.
Your donation will make it possible for my students to experience a real softball game, and "level the playing field."
