My Project

Our students are eager to play, but right now we don’t have the equipment to make that possible.

We need junior-size basketballs that fit small hands, clear floor markers for safe movement, and a proper storage rack so materials can be cared for and used year-round.

Without these basics, it’s nearly impossible to teach skills like dribbling, passing, spacing, and teamwork. This equipment turns an empty gym into a learning space, one where every child can participate fully, feel successful, and grow stronger each week. With your help, our first graders will finally have what they need to train, play, and experience the joy of being part of a team.

This project will help my students strengthen their bodies and their confidence at the same time.

Many of my first graders are still developing essential motor skills and learning how to work together as a team. Basketball gives them a supportive place to practice coordination, self-control, turn-taking, and perseverance, skills that translate directly into the classroom. For some children, this will be their first chance to feel what it’s like to be part of a team and to be cheered on for their effort. With the right equipment, our students will build healthier habits, feel proud of their progress, and discover that sport can be a joyful part of school life.
