This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I absolutely love my students and their incredible potential. They are a kindergarten Access Points Class for children with exceptional needs. Each day, they inspire me with their determination, curiosity, and unique perspectives. These young learners are not just special because of their needs, but because of their remarkable abilities to overcome challenges and explore the world around them.

What truly sets my students apart is their resilience and unique strengths.

Their ability to see the world differently enriches our learning community, teaching us valuable lessons about empathy, patience, and creativity. Each student’s journey is unique, and with the right resources, we can support their paths to success.

I am writing to share how specific items will significantly affect their learning experiences and independence. The I Can Read Pete the Cat Beginning Reading Six Book Set will be an invaluable resource for our budding readers. These books, with their engaging stories and colorful illustrations, will help instill a love of reading, improve literacy skills, and build confidence. We will use these books during our daily reading time, encouraging students to read aloud and share their favorite parts. The Crayola Jumbo Crayons Classpack will enhance our art activities, allowing students to express their creativity while developing fine motor skills. These crayons are perfect for young hands and will help in creating vibrant artwork. We will incorporate art projects that align with our thematic units, giving students opportunities to illustrate their learning. The Elephant & Piggie Bundle will bring joy and laughter to our classroom while teaching important social and emotional lessons. The relatable stories will help students learn about friendship, empathy, and cooperation. We will use these books during storytime to spark discussions about emotions and social interactions, which are vital for developing social skills.
