Basic Tools to Learn the Basics in Math and Science

Help me give my students the tools they need to work in their math and science notebooks, solve problems on the whiteboards, and work problems on their personal whiteboards.

My Project

We use whiteboards on a daily basis in my classroom, especially in math. My students use whiteboards on lap desks for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what each student is doing, and to take note of which children need more help in certain areas. It's important to have plenty of markers, and for each student to have a whiteboard eraser so we can get right to work instead of hunting down supplies, taking critical time away from learning.

By donating to our project, you will help us have all the supplies we need to get right down to work every day, instead of hunting down the basics that are essential for student learning.

Without having everything we need ready and available, every activity can take twice as long when we have to wait for some to find a pencil, or hunt down an eraser. It can interrupt the flow of class, and any stoppage can give 10 year olds all the reason they need to check out. By having pencils and erasers readily available, my kids can enter material quickly and accurately into their Math and Science notebooks, and with enough markers and erasers, they can work problems on their whiteboards without having to wander the room for supplies. Please help us stay on track and pack as much into each day as we possibly can!
