This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I provide services for children of various grades with speech and language impairments in grades kindergarten through eighth grade in an inner-city, public school in New York City. Each one of my students has individual goals ranging from improvements in vocabulary, writing, reading, cognition, stuttering, and speech articulation. My students and their families lack the resources required for academic, speech, and language improvements. I try my best to provide these resources to help them succeed in school and to improve their self-esteem.

My Project

My students need basic supplies so they can be students. You can't learn if don't have the academic tools that all students should be entitled to, such as a pencil, pens, tape, and dry eraser markers. My students can't always afford school supplies, but I do my best to provide them with the basic necessities required of a student. If they don't have to worry about having a pen or paper, they can focus on learning. Providing my students with basic supplies will improve their academic performance and allow them to focus on what truly matters; education. Can you imagine being a student without a pencil?
