Hello, I am a kindergarten teacher on the Westside of Chicago. The money for supplies is very limited at the school I work at. The students at my school come with little or no basic knowledge, and about 99% of my students receive free meals, so asking them for supplies is out of the question. I have probably purchased over a thousand pencils for my students, not to mention crayons and primary paper. I feel so bad for my students when they tell me that they didn't have any pencils or crayons to complete their homework. It amazes me how the schools expect or assume teachers will provide everything for the students in their class. Some of the basic supplies I am asking for are pencils, primary writing paper, glue sticks, scissors and crayons. These are the supplies the students need in the classroom as well as at home to complete their homework. These supplies would be used in the classroom for the students to complete their classwork. I would also supply bags that the students can take home to complete homework. My students and I would appreciate a donation of these supplies
