My Students
The students at my school are an energetic and hardworking group of children. They enjoy coming to school, but school funding cuts over the years have impacted what schools can provide to individual classrooms.
I teach students with special needs in an urban neighborhood where all the students at school are eligible for free breakfast and free lunch.
Our school has hard-working students, as well as teachers and staff, who strive to make our school a welcoming and inviting place. In addition, our school is one of the top-performing schools in the city.
My Project
I am a special-education teacher. I work with students from Kindergarten to 4th grade. There are many different concepts and skills being taught depending on individual students' needs.
Thus, it is important to have basic supplies to stay on track and organized.
The binders and dividers will be used to keep curriculum materials orderly. Colored paper is needed for different things that need to be copied. Since there are different groups doing different things, the colored paper will help students readily identify the specific paper needed. Students working on math skills use the different colored dry erase markers to show their work for different parts of a problem. This helps them see the multiple steps a problem has more clearly and helps students focus better. Time will not be wasted since we will have the basic supplies needed to effectively teach.
