it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
After eight years of teaching in 3rd and 5th grade, I'm going back to teach Kindergarten for the 24-25 school year! I taught Kinder many years ago, and am excited to be going back! I work at a Title I school where all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Most of our Kindergarteners come to our school without any experience of being outside of the household or in the care of a family member, so the schooling atmosphere is a brand new experience for them! This can be scary for young children! Funding this project would mean that each of my students has the supplies they need every day!
Basic supplies are so important for every student!
Having basic supplies are essential for daily learning! Having supplies that are labeled with their names helps each student to feel special as well! Individualized supplies are a great opportunity to help students build responsibility! This is a life lesson that every child needs to learn, and beginning with important items like supplies is a good place to start! Also building fine motor skills from the beginning of the year with cutting, gluing, and writing activities is very important! Each student will be responsible for their individual pencil boxes, crayons, scissors, glue, pencil, and dry erase marker. These items will be utilized during small group learning centers for math and literacy!
