This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from diverse and underserved communities, whose lives are rich with varied perspectives.

Our school has students from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.

We have a high number of students who consider English their second language, the majority of whom qualify for free or reduced price lunches.

We offer many programs for our students, from traditional extra-curricular activities to college field trips, mental health and socio-emotional learning workshops, and more. This project will specifically provide necessary materials for my Journalism students to begin their journey as reporters creating our own school newspaper, podcast, and weekly newscast. They will use the chargers, microphones and backdrop to produce a weekly newscast for our school, as well as a podcast in which they can share their voices as tomorrow's leaders. By having access to these tools, students can explore possible career paths and make a positive change on their school campus.
