This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a wonderful group of third graders who come from different economic backgrounds with over seventy-seven percent receiving free lunch. My students speak a multitude of languages. As diverse as my students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics as well. Our class includes gifted learners, English language learners and students with academic disabilities.
My students are an enthusiastic, eager group of third grade students who come from very diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Our school is a Title I school. My students are excited about learning and want to do well. Due to this pandemic, my students are not able to have access to basic materials, books and manipulatives that are provided in our classroom.
My Project
Having basic school supplies and e-readers to pass out to my students as they engage in distance learning opportunities will help my students access their learning. E-readers will give my students an opportunity to access books and online learning platforms. I can make sure my students have books to read and supplies to do work. Pencils, crayons, colored pencils and notebooks will assist students in producing their work and being able to make a hard copy. The dry erase lapboards will give students the materials they need as they participate in lessons online. These materials will help students continue learning through our school closure that is related to Covid-19.
