Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Third-grader (Noun) \ˈthərd grā-dər\ - Someone who is a mathematician, reader, writer, artist, scientist, dancer, leader, explorer, and friend. - Someone who needs access to technology, high-quality books and an inclusive place to learn.
My third graders are curious and they try hard - really hard.
They love to read, write, explore, and find answers to questions. Did you know that they are also bilingual, bicultural, and biliterate? They speak, read, and write in two languages, English and Spanish. That also means that during the school day, they learn in both languages.
My Project
During our reading, writing, or math block, students practice their skills to become better readers, writers and mathematicians. There is something about dry erase boards that just make learning more fun. Maybe it is the ease of erasing mistakes or the pleasure of using a new surface.
Help me help my students have access to dry erase boards and markers.
The boards will be used for whole group instruction, small group, partner and independent work. We will also travel with these boards to the computer lab to work on our math skills, and save paper in the meantime! I know my students will be happy to have these and colored pencils - the tools they need to succeed.
