Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently a kindergarten teacher and I teach all subjects. I teach in an inner city school in the Bronx, where 98% of the students receive free lunch. As an early childhood teacher we must use any and all methods in order to teach our students. We teach students by having them work in centers on various activities. We believe that these activities will enable students to be successful on individual lessons. Students work in groups of 5-6 students per table. Students rotate daily from one activity to the next. Over the years these types of activities have been successful in helping students to learn and work with peers.
My vision is to provide every table with various center activities. Each group of students will be able to move to the next level at his/her own pace. Furthermore, students will enjoy working on these activities as they learn.
