My students need an over head timer, a five minute math for the overhead, two Mastering Basic Skills Books (Grade 4 and Grade 5), one 5th Grade Test Prep Ring, 40 5th Grade Test Prep Math Journals and one Math Test-Taking Strategies Overhead Kit.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am currently a fifth grade mathematics teacher in a low-income district. My students are behind academically in mathematics.
I am currently teaching out of the Everyday Mathematics curriculum, which I enjoy. What I don't enjoy is that my students are not ready for the 5th grade math curriculum. I am often faced with the question, "How will I move my students?" It is extremely hard to move them, when I don't have the resources I need.
I've asked for items that will not only help my students get to grade level but to also get them ready for the 6th grade. I have requested a classroom set of 5th grade test prep workbooks. To support the workbooks, we need a timer and test taking strategies, to use with the overhead projector in my classroom. In order to help my classroom get on grade level, I have asked for a Grade 4 and Grade 5 Basic Skills workbooks.
Your donation will help my students for the rest of their lives. With math, once a student understands they never forget. That is what I want for my students.
