My Students

Our school is full of love and eager learners. We believe that children meet the expectations of those who influence them - parents, teachers, peers, and community members. Our students are a diverse group of learners who are preparing to excel in a fast-paced world.

If they can't learn the way we teach, we teach the way they learn; -- Dr O Ivar Lovaas.

I am teaching in a Special Education Inclusion PreK 4 classroom this year. Our students learn in various ways. My goal is to meet each individual student where they are at, to reach their full potential this year.

Together, we make a difference!

My Project

We use color clothes pins everyday for students to play plan and to regulate the number of students in a center. There are six different centers in my classroom (Brown/Blocks, Red/Literacy, Purple/Art, Orange/Dramatic Play, Green/Science, Blue/Table Toys). Somehow, the clothes pins disappear in the classroom, like socks disappear in the dryer at home. Play planning consist of students drawing a picture of themselves in the center they would like to play in. When students play plan, it helps with their dexterity, students are learning how to express what they would like to do for free play time. The goal is for students to independently grab a cloth

Play is our brain favorite way of learning.

I will use the post it flags to mark pages in books I read to the students for stopping points. The glue gun will be used to piece together interactive prompts for students to play with (mainly cardboard structures). I will use the paper cutter to cut out items to decorate the classroom and to quickly prepare student projects.

Thank you for viewing my project.
