This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are half-way through the school year and need to restock specific basic classroom items that my amazing Kindergarten students use every day! My Kinder students use white boards daily for dictation or "el dictado" in both English and Spanish. This project will give us the needed dry erase markers and erasers that we need for this important daily instruction. The laminating sheets will be used as an interactive practice work mat once laminated with intentional cognitive inquires for students. The Play-doh will provide a hands-on way for kids to practice reading and spelling high frequency words.

Reading El Dictado is a strategy used to teach word study in our dual language classroom that empowers students as independent multilingual writers and readers.

I use these supplies daily in both Spanish and in English instruction to teach elements of word study such as mechanics, spelling, punctuation, fluency, word order, organization of ideas, and other skills.
