This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a dynamic group of kids who are always looking for ways to learn new things about technology. They come to the classroom filled with humor and laughter and creative minds. More than a positive attitude, thirst for learning, these kids come to my classroom with empty stomachs and excessive troubles brought about by homelessness and other social issues. They often ask if I have food or water to give them because they are feeling hungry and have not had a decent meal. As often as they ask for basic necessities, they also ask for materials that we can use for STEM projects.

My Project

Providing my students with basic hygiene needs such as soap and paper towels plus some snacks such as cinnamon rolls and sunchips grains will help my students have a bit of extra motivation to be come to class ready to learn. These snacks and materials will be given to the student either as supplies that they can bring home to share with their families or as supplies that can use to keep hygienic at home and in the classroom as many of them come from foster homes and are also living in squalid high poverty situations with other relatives or guardians.
