Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the greatest group of five and six-year-olds. With high energy levels and enthusiasm, my class always comes to school so eager to learn. My class is very diverse with some families being more fortunate than others.

The twenty-eight students in my class come from varying walks of life, but together we have created one community.

Kindergarten is often my students' first year of school. It is so crucial to build their excitement toward learning and encourage them to achieve great things in the classroom.

My Project

So many materials are needed for all aspects of everyday learning. Students need pencils, paper, pencils, glue, and so many more basic supplies for daily learning that when they lack these resources, learning becomes extremely difficult. Materials are needed for everyday student use in independent activities as well as center resources. All of these materials lend themselves to financial literacy learning as we tackle concepts such as needs and wants, choices, addition, subtraction, money, and so much more! Replenishing these materials will ensure that my students are ready to learn and engage in lessons focused on financial literacy topics and beyond!
