My Students
The beauty of working in an extremely diverse school is getting to learn about different cultures and work with a melting pot of students. When every student in my class comes together, they are always learning from each other.
Being in an emergent classroom, it helps me appreciate teaching them even more as I can connect to how they are learning.
My students are always trying their best to learn the English language through visuals and active listening. I am always learning from my students and using what they teach me by observing them to help me better plan my lessons for them. Understanding their struggles, I try my best to make learning fun for them and hope that they enjoy going to school.
My Project
Often times I notice students are distracted because they want to sharpen their pencils or look around in their desk for pencils and erasers. With the basic needs of pencils and a working stapler, students will not need to bother other students to borrow pencils or an eraser.
You never know that the basic needs can become not basic anymore when your students run out of pencils and other supplies that can seem so basic to us.
In our classroom, our most basic needs like pencils and tape are becoming very luxurious because we are running out. Our pencil sharpener is starting to make funny noises because we made use of it so much. Our most handy dandy stapler has also stopped working. That stapler holds out student work up on the bulletin board and also staples our work together.
