Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a group of wonderful Dual Language second graders who are very excited to learn Math, create Art projects, and write stories! My students' goals are to become fluent in Spanish and English through Writing, Reading and Speaking! Most of my students participate in a free or reduced-price. They are Hispanic and come from low-income families with at least one parent who has more than one job. The items needed will help them understand Math concepts about money, addition and subtraction strategies and improve narrative, persuasive and informational writing.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
