My Students
Our school is located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and serves Pre-K to 5th grade. The majority of young learners at our New York City school receive free and reduced-price lunch. Our first-grade class is made up of 21 goofy, kind, and bright students who come from mostly bilingual homes.
Not only are the students exciting to be around, they are also some of the most caring, hardworking, and curious first graders who act daily as change-makers, bringing a multicultural lens into the classroom.
As their teacher, I strive every day to motivate my students to achieve their highest potential through music and imagination!
My Project
My students need a number of classroom basics--including glue sticks, chart paper, construction paper, and paint to start the school year on the right foot! A lot of these materials will be used in centers or as class project items to increase student engagement.
The basic materials requested in this project will help provide my students with the items they need to succeed in first grade!
The items requested will also provide students with opportunities to explore other ways of including art in the classroom through painting, watercolors, clay building and scratch art. I am hopeful these materials will support our learning for the entire school year!
