Help me give my students basic feminine hygiene products, hand sanitizer, bandages, and dry shampoo so they don't have to worry about life's happenings.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach on the southwest side of Chicago. Most of my students come from low income families. The everyday items we take for granted many times are luxuries for my students, such as books, pens and hygiene supplies.
For this project, I am focusing specifically on hygiene products.
I keep a drawer in my classroom for students who may not have access to these products at home. I would love help keeping my supplies full so my students never have to worry or be embarrassed if they need an item to help them feel clean and confident.
My Project
I teach all kinds of students, including those that may not receive support at home when it comes to basic hygiene products and care knowledge. Almost on a daily basis I have female students requesting tampons or maxi pads from me because they know I have them. Please help me replenish my stash for my students in my classroom so they can have products they need without worry.
Additionally, I have requested dry shampoo for students who may not have access to regular showers.
A few other items such as bandages, hand sanitizer, and air fresheners are basics that both my students and I use daily.
