This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my school are creative, thoughtful and incredibly kind! They absolutely love hands-on, active and engaging projects. They come to school every day eager to learn and with a positive attitude.
My kids have chosen to come to our school for a hands-on educational experience.
An educational experience in which their culture and lifestyles will be embraced in the classroom. Each one of my students is unique, but that's what makes our classroom community all that much better.
My Project
There are many different classroom essentials a teacher needs in order to run a successful classroom. My students already have a safe place to call "home", now they need some basic supplies to help them become successful learners. Recently, we received a color printer for the students to use for projects and assignments. With that, ink runs out quickly and becomes costly. Having more ink will make a difference in my students' learning by taking the stress away of students being unable to print in color. Our class also has started learning money in Math. We have coins to use for manipulatives, but not bills, so I've been drawing some bills on paper for them. Having paper bills will make a difference in my classroom by providing quality visuals for the students by helping to teach them money in an engaging way. Our reading groups have grown in size from 4 to 8 students. My students have to borrow other classmates seats and sometimes I have to stand due to unavailable seats at our reading corner. Having extra seats for our groups makes a huge difference in my classroom by ensuring that each student will have a seat for reading while taking the stress away of finding other seats for the students to use in the classroom. Having all of these materials will make a difference in my students' learning by engaging them with providing visuals and manipulatives. Every student deserves the basic essentials in their classroom and I hope to give that to these amazing students!
