Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My schools serves children from kindergarten through eighth grade who come from a diverse range of backgrounds. About 92% of the students in the school live at or below the poverty line. We are a full-service, inclusion school which means we teach all students with behavioral, social-emotional, or learning needs. My students work hard and persevere through all learning experiences.

My Project

Nationwide, students have been largely impacted by the pandemic. With students returning to the school building full time, it is imperative that we provide our students and educators with the basic classroom supplies to experience success.

Having basic classroom supplies both physical and digital will help to aid students' creativity and improve their attitudes towards learning.

My students will be experiencing many challenges due to school closures during the 2020-2021 school year. I will be teaching 4th grade students who come from families who face economic hardships. The school does its best to provide what they can for our students, but we cannot always meet those demands. Starting off the school year with the necessary classroom supplies and materials will help to make this school year a success. The supplies and materials outlined in this project will aid the day-to-day activities and classwork that will take place in our classroom.

All students deserve to have access to resources that will help them be successful and develop a positive attitude towards learning. The supplies will ultimately help to achieve this goal.
