Basic Classroom Supplies for my Special Needs Students

Help me give my students the basic supplies they need to use in the classroom.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Craig's classroom raised $716

This project is fully funded

My Students

My students have a thirst for knowledge and smiles that light up any room, and they celebrate each new skill. My students also have a wide range of identified needs such as learning delays, developmental delays, Autism, and physical impairments. Additionally, many of my students are facing issues such as homelessness, poverty, and other traumatic issues.

You can help level the playing field for special needs students.

Special needs students deserve a great education. This is what I strive to provide every day, but, sometimes I need help. When that happens, I turn to you and DonorsChoose.org!

My Project

This project is jam-packed with basic supplies to keep my classroom up and running. When it comes to Special Education, our basic needs go beyond pencils and notebooks to include a variety of items that are necessary to meet all of the various needs of students.

Sensory fidgets are a must have in any Special Education classroom.

These help students calm their anxious minds and stay focused through all the things that come their way. The headphones can be used to listen to audio books, complete work on the computer, or just block out noise. The timers are used for a variety of things such as breaks or how much longer a student must work until a break or a subject is over.

Dry erase markers and cloths are essential as they help engage hard to reach learners and the colored book bins help sort books by level and reduce frustrations. The math games are a basic classroom supply as Special Needs students can struggle to learn with traditional paper and pencil and need their work presented in a different way.

Last but not least this project also includes bean bag chairs and refills. Flexible seating is a must for any modern classroom but is a basic need in a Special Needs classroom. This offers students a chance to change up their routine and get comfortable, especially when the work is challenging. It provides that extra touch they need to power through their day.
