Basic Classroom Supplies as We Shake Off the Dust!

My Students
New York City 7th grade mathematics students for the win! My students and I have been sent back to the real world - once again returning to the classroom after learning remotely due to COVID. We all love being in school, making real connections happen in a real classroom, and are resilient enough to overcome any challenge, even if we haven't been able to meet face-to-face for a while.
Over 95% of my school's population receives free lunch - the majority of students come from lower-level income households.
This hits especially hard in that some of my students struggle to consistently access even the most basic, essential school materials. We take this in stride and are inspired to overcome our plates full of challenges.
Our classroom has received so much love and kindness through donors at this site - and we are once again asking for your help. One would think that a proper classroom setup would be provided by the districts of every school in our country - we will continue to dream as much, but continue to lean on your support for our success!
My Project
My students' proactive, problem-solving mindsets are flourishing, however, our access to basic materials is floundering. NYC public schools have fallen on unfortunately lean times - my classroom is decidedly lacking in a supply of basic materials. We are in need of pencils, dry erase markers, a speaker so everyone can hear presentations, scissors, tape, and pencil sharpeners - everything a classroom needs to explore the exciting world of mathematics. We have the opportunity to set our academic careers in motion on the right foot, though it is essentially impossible to do so without access to adequate classroom supplies.
The markers, pencils, tape, and colored pencils in this project will fuel my students' appreciation of, love for, and curiosity concerning mathematics.
We are at an important point in the math journey of our students where we can highlight critical relationships that they will see in the remainder of their studies. It is imperative that we equip our students with what they need to succeed.
I'm proud to be a representative for the joys of math study for my students. We have a very challenging year ahead, wherein students may not share materials, so the supplies that you contribute will become the personal tools that my students use both in school and at home.
