We are halfway through the school year and my 2nd graders are needing to have the basic materials replenished to participate in their learning and be successful.
The school that I teach at is located in a low socioeconomic area and operates with 94% free and reduced-price lunch assistance which is higher than the state's average of 50.2%.
This shows that my school's neighborhood has a high level of poverty and my students deserve this project to be funded to allow them to have the basic necessity such as pencils, crayons, paper, markers, etc.
My Project
All classrooms need the basic materials for successful learning to take place. I teach 2nd grade and we are halfway through our school year and we are running low on classroom materials that are needed.
In 2nd grade, we are always practicing our writing skills and learning better techniques to become more successful writers.
To do this a class needs paper, pencils, dry erase boards, dry erase markers, dry erasers, etc. We use these materials to learn new words and practice correct word spacing. Reading and writing go hand in hand and that is why my students need our materials replenished. Thank you!
