Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students generally come from low-income families that live around the school neighborhood located in the Southeast area of San Diego. Most of my students are African American and Latino, followed by students from the Pacific Islands or Asian backgrounds.
Our school is a unique place.
The school has a great percentage of students with special needs; therefore, our school needs to be equipped with technological devices, lab tools and materials, and other resources that will guarantee that all students have what they need to learn and succeed adequately.
My Project
Our classroom is a place where students can find materials they need for their academic learning. Additionally, I make sure that our classroom has enough supplies, including hygienic products and other items that are essential for a healthy school year.
Therefore, I would like to stack our classroom with basic classroom materials, a few books, and some hygienic items that would lead to a sanitary and enjoyable environment.
From past experience, I have noticed that some of my students depend on what I can provide to them in order to have a successful academic year.
