Basic Bling

My students need some new percussion equipment including cymbals and hardware, wind chimes, triangles, workout pads and more.

My Students

Bang the drum!!! Well, guess what? The drum eventually wears out. Percussionists deserve to use quality equipment and it is my goal to see that they get it!

We are a four year public high school with a 107 year history of quality musical ensembles.

I currently have 19 percussionists in two bands who use (and abuse) our equipment on a daily basis. This is considered normal to us band-director-types, so no worries there. We also have a marching band and jazz band which use our percussion equipment nearly every day.

My Project

I am asking for funds to purchase some replacement percussion equipment and upgrade some of the older pieces and parts in our arsenal. Many of my students go on to college without ever having had the experience of playing on high quality equipment. My goal is to see that they get the chance to do just that. It does not cost a lot of money to provide this equipment for my students, but it is beyond what I am able to do with our limited budget. Any help would be appreciated.

Drummers are a dime a dozen.

Percussionists are a rare commodity in this world. I am trying to produce percussionists. High quality equipment is essential to achieving that goal. If they have the opportunity to rehearse and perform on professional quality gear, then they will treat it better, and as a result, spend more time making music and less time 'making do with what we have'. Any and all support you are able to give to our students would be greatly appreciated.
