My Project
I absolutely love how my students approach each new learning experience with curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to give their best effort, no matter their prior experience. Each one brings a unique perspective, energy, and determination to the classroom and that makes teaching them such a rewarding experience. I am deeply committed to helping them develop important physical and mental skills that will benefit them both inside and outside of the classroom.
The whiffle ball unit is specifically designed to help my students build key skills including weight transfer and hand-eye coordination.
By using whiffle balls and bats, we create a safe, fun, and engaging environment where they can practice these techniques without the risk of injury, making it the perfect tool for hands-on learning. Whiffle balls are lightweight and slower-moving, which allows students to better track and react to the ball, gradually improving their ability to hit and catch in real-life situations. Additionally, weight transfer is an essential skill for many athletic movements. Practicing with whiffle ball teaches students how to shift their body weight properly when hitting or throwing, leading to better balance and form that can be applied to a variety of physical tasks.
My goal for this project is to give my students the opportunity to enhance these skills in a way that is fun, interactive, and challenging. It’s not just about improving at whiffle ball itself, but developing confidence, teamwork, and discipline that they can carry with them into all areas of life. My students are special because they all have different starting points, but each of them is capable of achieving remarkable growth and mastery when given the right tools and support. This project is a way to empower them, celebrate their progress, and create memories that will last beyond the classroom.
